Biography:

Robert Rochelle  Born November 25, 1945.  B.S. Middle Tennessee State University; J.D. 1969 University of Tennessee.  Admitted to Tennessee bar 1969.

Former Senator Bob Rochelle served as County Attorney of Wilson County from 1974 to 1987.  He was active in the original land use planning and zoning for the county and the expansion of urban services in a previously rural area.

In 1982, he was elected State Senator and served for twenty years, advancing to the position of Speaker Pro Tem.  He was in the Leadership Group of the legislature and dealt with all major issues facing the state.  He gained national recognition for his legislation in 1998 which resolved multiple issues relating to city and county government relations such as annexation and revenue sharing.

Bob has extensive experience in property taxation, governmental bonds, water and wastewater services and economic development.  He is also general counsel to a special school district and a housing authority.  Bob received numerous awards during his career from groups as varied as the AFL-CIO to the Tennessee Industrial Development Council.

A Vietnam veteran, Bob is active in the Democratic Party and was Charter President of his Rotary Club.  His practice is limited to several long time clients and assisting other lawyers in the firm in areas in which he has expertise.
